My University ResearchFor the last four years I have been blessed to work with a College Prep Coach. Coach Christie encouraged me to dive deep into my passion for photography. She helped me learn how to research universities with photography programs I could get a degree in. My top 2 universities are below along with the college essay I wrote for my college application.

University 2The photography program at Howard University looks at all the principles of light, color, and image capture for print and the web. These are the studies I most need to practice as I grow into the field. I like the fact that Howard University still teaches students the fundamentals of basic darkroom techniques with black and white film and chemistry in producing a finished print.
Other courses I hope will challenge me to express my imagination. I most look forward to honing my skills in photography learning about color theory, characteristics and behaviors and how color impacts the image. Howard University is also big on collaborative working environments reflecting which I look forward to. I would love to work with a group of photographers and learn from their experiences! |
My College Essay
How do we use time with positive things? By doing a hobby that we like, following our passion! Photography makes me understand people better, getting to know more people, it makes more social and more sensitive, and feel the sadness or anger they hide behind smiles because a picture can tell a lot of things. Photography also makes me creative and productive to practice patience and focus.
Photography makes me think of more creative concepts and rich of ideas. It's an image that has a visual appeal and can be understood even without words. How to make a photos that can attract readers, touch their hearts and minds to support my writing as a writer, so I have to understand photography—although I didn't ever take formal of photography lessons.
I'm always curious about the new place and all the moments that made me never bored to hold the camera. No matter wherever I am, whatever I do, there is always light there.
